The appeal against the proposed 9 storey commercial building on Telekom Land in USJ 6 continues. On 21 December 2009, Gobind Singh represented the residents at Lembaga Rayuan and argued that the State Planning Committee has a statutory duty to consider the revocation of development order made by MPSJ. State Planning Committee has yet to endorse MPSJ's decision. Lembaga Rayuan then ordered a stay of proceedings until the State Planning Committee has made a decision on the matter.
Residents of USJ 6 oganised a protest at the development site and invited me to receive a memorandum on behalf of the Chief Minister of Selangor YAB Tan Sri Khalid. The memorandum will be forwarded to the Chief Minister's office this week. A few elected representatives came in support of the residents' cause. Tony Pua (Member of Parliament for PJ Utara), Khalid Samad (Member of Parliament for Shah Alam), Dr Nasir Hashim (State Assemblyman of Kota Damansara) and Edward Lee (State Assemblyman of Bukit Gasing) stood with the residents and defended the call to preserve utility lands in Selangor.
Also present to support the USJ 6 residents were USJ Residents' Association Chairman Melvin Lee, Subang Jaya Residents' Association Chairman AS Gill and his committee members, representatives from Bandar Sunway Residents' Association and USJ3ABCD. We hope that the State Planning Committee will make the right decision by endorsing MPSJ's decision to revoke the development order given.
